What the site stores on your device
The C++ Programming pages do not set cookies. They do not use local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, advertising identifiers, tracking pixels or browser fingerprinting. There are no analytics tags, social-media plug-ins or third-party videos.
The lesson menu, reading-progress indicator and glossary search are ordinary page functions. They work locally in the browser and do not remember you after the page is closed.
Why there is no consent banner
UK and EU rules require prior consent for storage or access technology when no legal exception applies. This course does not use that technology at all, so there is nothing for a visitor to accept or reject. Displaying a consent banner in those circumstances would create an appearance of choice without any underlying processing to control.
This approach follows the ICO's current storage and access technologies guidance and the EU guidance on online privacy.
Server-side hosting information
Google Firebase Hosting processes an IP address and ordinary request information when it delivers a page. That happens on the hosting service rather than by placing a cookie or other identifier in your browser. It is explained in the privacy notice.
If the site changes
We will review this notice before adding analytics, an embedded service or any feature that stores or reads information on a visitor's device. If a future feature requires consent, it will remain disabled until a visitor has made a clear choice, and refusing it will be as easy as accepting it.
